In May 2014, 343 Industries announced both the existence of Halo 5: Guardians, and that the Halo TV series will premiere in Fall 2015. However, just a month later, Xbox’s TV department was axed. Much to fan relief, the TV series was spared cancellation due to 343/Microsoft arranging with Showtime to air the series. Since then, we’ve heard very little about the ellusive production, with not even E3 nor Comicon shedding light.
If you’re one of us expecting to squander to the sofa over the upcoming Halo TV series this fall, you may be diving towards a sea of disappointment. In a recent interview with IGN, Showtime headboss David Nevins confirmed that although the TV series is in “very active development,” we won’t be watching it this fall. Furthermore, when asked for when more details would be shared, Nevins responded with a laugh and said “No time soon.”
Well, that’s a bummer.
